How To Install valkyrie on Debian 10

In this tutorial we learn how to install valkyrie
on Debian 10.
What is valkyrie
valkyrie is:
Valkyrie is an open-source graphical user interface for the Valgrind 3.6.X line. Valkyrie uses the Qt widget library, and is based on Valgrind`s XML output capabilities. Valkyrie is designed for simplicity and ease of use, whilst allowing access to the full range of Valgrind command-line options.
Currently, Valkyrie supports Memcheck only, although work is in progress to handle Cachegrind and Massif.
There are three methods to install valkyrie
on Debian 10. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install valkyrie Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install valkyrie
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install valkyrie
Install valkyrie Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install valkyrie
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install valkyrie
Install valkyrie Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install valkyrie
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install valkyrie
How To Uninstall valkyrie on Debian 10
To uninstall only the valkyrie
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove valkyrie
Uninstall valkyrie And Its Dependencies
To uninstall valkyrie
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 10, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove valkyrie
Remove valkyrie Configurations and Data
To remove valkyrie
configuration and data from Debian 10 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge valkyrie
Remove valkyrie configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove valkyrie
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge valkyrie
