How To Install tuned-utils-systemtap on Rocky Linux 8

In this tutorial we learn how to install tuned-utils-systemtap
on Rocky Linux 8.
What is tuned-utils-systemtap
This package contains several systemtap scripts to allow detailed manual monitoring of the system. Instead of the typical IO/sec it collects minimal, maximal and average time between operations to be able to identify applications that behave power inefficient (many small operations instead of fewer large ones).
We can use yum
or dnf
to install tuned-utils-systemtap
on Rocky Linux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install tuned-utils-systemtap.
Install tuned-utils-systemtap on Rocky Linux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install tuned-utils-systemtap
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install tuned-utils-systemtap
Install tuned-utils-systemtap on Rocky Linux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install tuned-utils-systemtap
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install tuned-utils-systemtap
How To Uninstall tuned-utils-systemtap on Rocky Linux 8
To uninstall only the tuned-utils-systemtap
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove tuned-utils-systemtap
