How To Install tor-arm on Debian 9

What is tor-arm
tor-arm is:
The anonymizing relay monitor (arm) is a terminal status monitor for Tor relays, intended for command-line aficionados, ssh connections, and anyone stuck with a tty terminal. This works much like top does for system usage, providing real time statistics for:
- bandwidth, cpu, and memory usage
- relay’s current configuration
- logged events
- connection details (ip, hostname, fingerprint, and consensus data)
- etc.
There are three methods to install tor-arm
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install tor-arm Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install tor-arm
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install tor-arm
Install tor-arm Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install tor-arm
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install tor-arm
Install tor-arm Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install tor-arm
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install tor-arm
How To Uninstall tor-arm on Debian 9
To uninstall only the tor-arm
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove tor-arm
Uninstall tor-arm And Its Dependencies
To uninstall tor-arm
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove tor-arm
Remove tor-arm Configurations and Data
To remove tor-arm
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge tor-arm
Remove tor-arm configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove tor-arm
