How To Install theorur on Ubuntu 20.04
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install theorur on Ubuntu 20.04.
What is theorur
theorur is:
Graphical user interface written using GTK+2 for Ogg/Theora video and audio streaming over an Icecast2 system.
Theorur allows you to:
- take a feed from your IEEE1394 DV port, or a DV channel/device on your DV network. You could feed analog video through the A/V input on a DV camera;
- use IceCast servers, so you can send to an Icecast receiver, or to a hired IcesCast server hoster;
- taylor it to your upload bandwidth capacity;
- stream from your DV Camera, Firewire Sound Mixing desk (there a only a few applications that work with firewire mixers in GNU/Linux) and firewire DVD players.
There are three methods to install theorur on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install theorur Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install theorur using apt-get by running the following command:
