What is srs

srs is:

The Sender Rewriting Scheme preserves .forward functionality in an SPF-compliant world.

SPF requires the SMTP client IP to match the envelope sender (return-path). When a message is forwarded through an intermediate server, that intermediate server may need to rewrite the return-path to remain SPF compliant. If the message bounces, that intermediate server needs to validate the bounce and forward the bounce to the original sender.

This package contains the srs client that can be used in your .forward files.

There are three methods to install srs on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install srs Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install srs using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install srs

Install srs Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install srs using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install srs

Install srs Using aptitude
