How To Install squid-common on Debian 9

What is squid-common
squid-common is:
Squid is a high-performance proxy caching server for web clients, supporting FTP, gopher, ICY and HTTP data objects.
Squid version 3 is a major rewrite of Squid in C++ and introduces a number of new features including ICAP and ESI support.

There are three methods to install squid-common on Debian 9. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install squid-common Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install squid-common using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install squid-common

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install squid-common using apt by running the following command:

Install squid-common Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install squid-common using aptitude by running the following command:

How To Uninstall squid-common on Debian 9
To uninstall only the squid-common package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove squid-common

To remove squid-common configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
