What is sdic-edict

sdic-edict is:

This package installs the EDICT Japanese-English dictionaries for use with sdic.

Although this package can install an English-Japanese dictionary derived from the EDICT Japanese-English dictionary, it is recommended to use the English-Japanese dictionary installed through sdic-gene95.

There are three methods to install sdic-edict on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install sdic-edict Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install sdic-edict using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install sdic-edict

Install sdic-edict Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install sdic-edict using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install sdic-edict

Install sdic-edict Using aptitude
