How To Install sat-xmpp-core on Debian 9

on Debian 9.
What is sat-xmpp-core
sat-xmpp-core is:
Salut ? Toi (French for “hello you”) is a multi-frontends, multi-purposes communication tool, based on the XMPP standard. It features:
- instant messaging
- microblogging
- file sharing
- games
- group permissions (share what you want with the people you choose)
- interaction with other networks (IRC, StatusNet, other XMPP networks)
- email client access (use your favorite mail user agent (MUA) to communicate on the supported networks)
- extensible design
This package contains Salut ? Toi’s core code. You should install it along with one of the frontends: Libervia (web interface), Wix (graphical interface), Primitivus (curse-based interactive console interface) or Jp (command-line interface).
There are three methods to install sat-xmpp-core
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install sat-xmpp-core Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install sat-xmpp-core
using apt-get

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install sat-xmpp-core
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install sat-xmpp-core
Install sat-xmpp-core Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install sat-xmpp-core
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install sat-xmpp-core
How To Uninstall sat-xmpp-core on Debian 9
To uninstall only the sat-xmpp-core
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove sat-xmpp-core
Uninstall sat-xmpp-core And Its Dependencies
To uninstall sat-xmpp-core
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove sat-xmpp-core
Remove sat-xmpp-core Configurations and Data
To remove sat-xmpp-core
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge sat-xmpp-core
Remove sat-xmpp-core configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove sat-xmpp-core
