How To Install rurple-ng on Debian 10

In this tutorial we learn how to install rurple-ng
on Debian 10.
What is rurple-ng
rurple-ng is:
Rurple-ng is a rewrite of RUR-PLE[1], a programming learning environment. The student learns programming concepts by controlling a robot. The original RUR-PLE comes with a self-learning tutorial[2] in several languages that can also be used with Rurple-ng.
Unlike other programming learning environments, RUR-PLE uses a real world programming language (Python) with no modifications or restrictions. Thus the student can move directly from programming a robot to real world programs.

There are three methods to install rurple-ng
on Debian 10. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install rurple-ng Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install rurple-ng
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install rurple-ng
Install rurple-ng Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install rurple-ng
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install rurple-ng
Install rurple-ng Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install rurple-ng
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install rurple-ng
How To Uninstall rurple-ng on Debian 10
To uninstall only the rurple-ng
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove rurple-ng
Uninstall rurple-ng And Its Dependencies
To uninstall rurple-ng
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 10, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove rurple-ng
Remove rurple-ng Configurations and Data
To remove rurple-ng
configuration and data from Debian 10 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge rurple-ng
Remove rurple-ng configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove rurple-ng
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge rurple-ng
