How To Install rtpbreak on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install rtpbreak
on Kali Linux.
What is rtpbreak
rtpbreak is:
With rtpbreak you can detect, reconstruct and analyze any RTP session. It doesn’t require the presence of RTCP packets and works independently form the used signaling protocol (SIP, H.323, SCCP, …). The input is a sequence of packets, the output is a set of files you can use as input for other tools (wireshark/tshark, sox, grep/awk/cut/ cat/sed, …). It supports also wireless (AP_DLT_IEEE802_11) networks.
There are three methods to install rtpbreak
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install rtpbreak Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install rtpbreak
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install rtpbreak
Install rtpbreak Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install rtpbreak
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install rtpbreak
Install rtpbreak Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install rtpbreak
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install rtpbreak
How To Uninstall rtpbreak on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the rtpbreak
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove rtpbreak
Uninstall rtpbreak And Its Dependencies
To uninstall rtpbreak
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove rtpbreak
Remove rtpbreak Configurations and Data
To remove rtpbreak
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge rtpbreak
Remove rtpbreak configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove rtpbreak
