How To Install roger-router-cli on Ubuntu 20.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install roger-router-cli on Ubuntu 20.04.
What is roger-router-cli
roger-router-cli is:
Journal, Fax-Software and Call-Monitor for AVM FRITZ!Box or compatible routers. The following features are supported through plugins:
- Call monitor, journal and address book
- Use system as softphone or dial support
- Fax transfer with CUPS integration.
A predecessor to the program was formerly called FRITZ!Box Fun (ffgtk).
This is the command-line interface part of the package only. The GUI is available in the roger-router package.
There are three methods to install roger-router-cli on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install roger-router-cli Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install roger-router-cli using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install roger-router-cli
Install roger-router-cli Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install roger-router-cli using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install roger-router-cli
Install roger-router-cli Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install roger-router-cli using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install roger-router-cli
How To Uninstall roger-router-cli on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the roger-router-cli package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge roger-router-cli
