In this tutorial we learn how to install recode-devel
on Rocky Linux 8.
What is recode-devel
The `recode’ library converts files between character sets and usages. The library recognizes or produces nearly 150 different character sets and is able to transliterate files between almost any pair. When exact transliteration are not possible, it may get rid of the offending characters or fall back on approximations. Most RFC 1345 character sets are supported.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install recode-devel
on Rocky Linux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install recode-devel.
Install recode-devel on Rocky Linux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install recode-devel
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install recode-devel
Install recode-devel on Rocky Linux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install recode-devel
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install recode-devel
How To Uninstall recode-devel on Rocky Linux 8
To uninstall only the recode-devel
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove recode-devel
