How To Install ranger on Debian 9

In this tutorial we learn how to install ranger on Debian 9.
What is ranger
ranger is:
Ranger is a free console file manager that gives you greater flexibility and a good overview of your files without having to leave your *nix console. It visualizes the directory tree in two dimensions: the directory hierarchy on one, lists of files on the other, with a preview to the right so you know where you’ll be going.
The default keys are similar to those of Vim, Emacs and Midnight Commander, though Ranger is easily controllable with just the arrow keys or the mouse.
The program is written in Python and uses curses for the text-based user interface.
There are three methods to install ranger on Debian 9. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ranger Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

How To Uninstall ranger on Debian 9
To uninstall only the ranger package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ranger
Uninstall ranger And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ranger and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ranger
Remove ranger Configurations and Data
To remove ranger configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ranger
