rail is:

RAIL is a elisp library, translates codenames with latin chars of FLIM/SEMI/XEmacs/UTF-2000-Mule/Meadow to Japanese characters (On irchat-pj, Japanize code name for “CTCP VERSION” return string).

It also provides a function compatible with genjis.el (a part of tm, that converts mule-version to Japanese characters).

There are three methods to install rail on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install rail Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update
