How To Install r-bioc-biocneighbors on Debian 12
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install r-bioc-biocneighbors
on Debian 12.
What is r-bioc-biocneighbors
r-bioc-biocneighbors is:
Implements exact and approximate methods for nearest neighbor detection, in a framework that allows them to be easily switched within Bioconductor packages or workflows. Exact searches can be performed using the k-means for k-nearest neighbors algorithm or with vantage point trees. Approximate searches can be performed using the Annoy or HNSW libraries. Searching on either Euclidean or Manhattan distances is supported. Parallelization is achieved for all methods by using BiocParallel. Functions are also provided to search for all neighbors within a given distance.
There are three methods to install r-bioc-biocneighbors
on Debian 12. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install r-bioc-biocneighbors
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install r-bioc-biocneighbors
Install r-bioc-biocneighbors Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install r-bioc-biocneighbors
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install r-bioc-biocneighbors
Install r-bioc-biocneighbors Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install r-bioc-biocneighbors
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install r-bioc-biocneighbors
