How To Install quicktime-utils on Ubuntu 20.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install quicktime-utils on Ubuntu 20.04.
What is quicktime-utils
quicktime-utils is:
libquicktime is a library for reading and writing QuickTime files on UNIX systems. Video CODECs supported by this library are OpenDivX, MJPA, JPEG Photo, PNG, RGB, YUV 4:2:2, and YUV 4:2:0 compression. Supported audio CODECs are Ogg Vorbis, IMA4, ulaw, and any linear PCM format.
This package contains additional utilities.
There are three methods to install quicktime-utils on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install quicktime-utils Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install quicktime-utils using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install quicktime-utils using apt by running the following command:

Install quicktime-utils Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install quicktime-utils using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install quicktime-utils
How To Uninstall quicktime-utils on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the quicktime-utils package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove quicktime-utils
Uninstall quicktime-utils And Its Dependencies
To uninstall quicktime-utils and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove quicktime-utils
Remove quicktime-utils Configurations and Data
To remove quicktime-utils configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge quicktime-utils
Remove quicktime-utils configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove quicktime-utils configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge quicktime-utils
