How To Install qt4-qmake on Ubuntu 18.04

This package contains Qt 4 qmake (qmake-qt4), a tool that helps simplify the build process for development project across different platforms. qmake automates the generation of Makefiles so that only a few lines of information are needed to create each Makefile. qmake can be used for any software project, whether it is written using Qt or not.
Qt 4 qmake requires a platform and compiler description file which contains many default values used to generate appropriate Makefiles.
This package contains also these platform specifications.
There are three methods to install qt4-qmake on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install qt4-qmake Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install qt4-qmake using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install qt4-qmake using apt by running the following command:

Install qt4-qmake Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install qt4-qmake using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install qt4-qmake
How To Uninstall qt4-qmake on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the qt4-qmake package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove qt4-qmake
Uninstall qt4-qmake And Its Dependencies
To uninstall qt4-qmake and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove qt4-qmake
Remove qt4-qmake Configurations and Data
To remove qt4-qmake configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge qt4-qmake
Remove qt4-qmake configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove qt4-qmake configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge qt4-qmake
