python-wrapt is:
The aim of the wrapt module is to provide a transparent object proxy for Python, which can be used as the basis for the construction of function wrappers and decorator functions.
The wrapt module focuses very much on correctness. It therefore goes way beyond existing mechanisms such as functools.wraps() to ensure that decorators preserve introspectability, signatures, type checking abilities etc. The decorators that can be constructed using this module will work in far more scenarios than typical decorators and provide more predictable and consistent behaviour.
To ensure that the overhead is as minimal as possible, a C extension module is used for performance critical components. An automatic fallback to a pure Python implementation is also provided where a target system does not have a compiler to allow the C extension to be compiled.
This package contains the Python 2.x module.
There are three methods to install python-wrapt on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install python-wrapt Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install python-wrapt using apt-get by running the following command:

Install python-wrapt Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install python-wrapt using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install python-wrapt
How To Uninstall python-wrapt on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the python-wrapt package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python-wrapt
Uninstall python-wrapt And Its Dependencies
To uninstall python-wrapt and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove python-wrapt
Remove python-wrapt Configurations and Data
To remove python-wrapt configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge python-wrapt
Remove python-wrapt configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove python-wrapt configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge python-wrapt
