What is python-trove
python-trove is:
Trove is “Database as a Service” for Openstack. It’s designed to allow users to quickly and easily utilize the features of a relational database without the burden of handling complex administrative tasks.
Cloud users and database administrators can provision and manage multiple database instances as needed. The service focus on providing resource isolation at high performance while automating deployment, configuration, patching, backups, restores, and monitoring. Trove is designed to support a single-tenant database within a Nova instance. There is no restrictions on how Nova is configured, since Trove interacts with other OpenStack components purely through the API.
This package provides the Trove Python library.
There are three methods to install python-trove
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install python-trove Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install python-trove
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install python-trove
Install python-trove Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install python-trove
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install python-trove
Install python-trove Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude

After updating apt database, We can install python-trove
using aptitude

sudo aptitude -y install python-trove
How To Uninstall python-trove on Debian 9
To uninstall only the python-trove
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python-trove
Uninstall python-trove And Its Dependencies
To uninstall python-trove
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove python-trove
Remove python-trove Configurations and Data
To remove python-trove
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge python-trove
