How To Install python-pymoc on Ubuntu 18.04

PyMOC provides a Python 2-compatible library for handling MOCs.
Frequently astronomical survey catalogues or images are sparse and cover only a small part of the sky. In a Multi-Order Coverage map the extent of data in a particular dataset is cached as a pre-calculated mask image. The hierarchical nature enables fast boolean operations in image space, without needing to perform complex geometrical calculations. Services such as VizieR generally offer the MOC masks, allowing a faster experience in graphical applications such as Aladin, or for researchers quickly needing to locate which datasets may contain overlapping coverage.
The MOC mask image itself is tessellated and stored in NASA HealPix format, encoded inside a FITS image container. Using the HealPix (Hierarchical Equal Area isoLatitude Pixelization) tessellation method ensures that more precision (pixels) in the mask are available when describing complex shapes such as approximating survey or polygon edges, while only needing to store a single big cell/pixel when an coverage is either completely inside, or outside of the mask. Catalogues can be rendered on the mask as circles.
There are three methods to install python-pymoc on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install python-pymoc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install python-pymoc using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install python-pymoc
How To Uninstall python-pymoc on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the python-pymoc package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python-pymoc
Uninstall python-pymoc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall python-pymoc and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove python-pymoc
Remove python-pymoc Configurations and Data
To remove python-pymoc configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge python-pymoc

We can use the following command to remove python-pymoc configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
