In this tutorial we learn how to install python-pycadf on Ubuntu 18.04.

What is python-pycadf

python-pycadf is:

pyCADF is an implementation of DMTF Cloud Audit (CADF) data model. DMTF Cloud Management Initiative is promoting the work of the Cloud Management Work Group, the Cloud Auditing Data Federation Working Group, the System Virtualization, Partitioning, Clustering Working Group and the Software Entitlement Working Group. This package contains the Python 2.7 module.

There are three methods to install python-pycadf on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install python-pycadf Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install python-pycadf using apt-get by running the following command:

After updating apt database, We can install python-pycadf using aptitude by running the following command:

How To Uninstall python-pycadf on Ubuntu 18.04

To uninstall only the python-pycadf package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove python-pycadf

Uninstall python-pycadf And Its Dependencies

To uninstall python-pycadf and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove python-pycadf

Remove python-pycadf Configurations and Data

To remove python-pycadf configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge python-pycadf

Remove python-pycadf configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove python-pycadf configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge python-pycadf
