How To Install python-parse on Debian 9
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install python-parse on Debian 9.
What is python-parse
python-parse is:
Parse strings using a specification based on the Python format() syntax.
``parse()`` is the opposite of ``format()``
The module is set up to only export parse(), search() and
findall() when import * is used:
from parse import *
From there it’s a simple thing to parse a string:
parse(“It’s {}, I love it!”, “It’s spam, I love it!”) <Result (‘spam’,) {}> _[0] ‘spam’
Or to search a string for some pattern:
search(‘Age: {:d}\n’, ‘Name: Rufus\nAge: 42\nColor: red\n’) <Result (42,) {}>

There are three methods to install python-parse on Debian 9. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install python-parse Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install python-parse using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install python-parse
Install python-parse Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install python-parse using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install python-parse
Install python-parse Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install python-parse using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install python-parse
How To Uninstall python-parse on Debian 9
To uninstall only the python-parse package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python-parse
Uninstall python-parse And Its Dependencies
To uninstall python-parse and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove python-parse
Remove python-parse Configurations and Data
To remove python-parse configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge python-parse
