on Debian 10.
What is python-olm
python-olm is:
Olm is an implementation of the Double Ratchet cryptographic ratchet described by https://whispersystems.org/docs/specifications/doubleratchet/, written in C and C++11 and exposed as a C API.
This library also includes an implementation of the Megolm cryptographic ratchet which is intended for encrypted messaging applications where there may be a large number of recipients of each message, thus precluding the use of peer-to-peer encryption systems such as Olm.
Megolm is the end-to-end encryption system for the Matrix communications protocol.
This package contains the Python bindings for libolm.
There are three methods to install python-olm
on Debian 10. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install python-olm Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install python-olm
using apt-get

How To Uninstall python-olm on Debian 10
To uninstall only the python-olm

To uninstall python-olm

sudo apt-get -y autoremove python-olm
Remove python-olm Configurations and Data
To remove python-olm
configuration and data from Debian 10 we can use the following command:
