Fast MPD (Music Player Daemon) client library written in pure Python. It was written to be a replacement for python-mpdclient which is a bit outdated and does not perform good in many situations.

This is the Python 2 version of python-mpd2, a fork of the original python-mpd.

There are three methods to install python-mpd on Debian 9. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install python-mpd Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install python-mpd using apt-get by running the following command:
