In this tutorial we learn how to install python-mistral on Ubuntu 18.04.

What is python-mistral

python-mistral is:

Mistral is a workflow service. Most business processes consist of multiple distinct interconnected steps that need to be executed in a particular order in a distributed environment. One can describe such process as a set of tasks and task relations and upload such description to Mistral so that it takes care of state management, correct execution order, parallelism, synchronization and high availability. Mistral also provides flexible task scheduling so that it can run a process according to a specified schedule (i.e. every Sunday at 4.00pm) instead of running it immediately. Such set of tasks and relations between them is called a workflow.

This package contains the Python libraries.

There are three methods to install python-mistral on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install python-mistral Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install python-mistral using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install python-mistral

Install python-mistral Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install python-mistral using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install python-mistral

Install python-mistral Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install python-mistral using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install python-mistral

How To Uninstall python-mistral on Ubuntu 18.04

To uninstall only the python-mistral package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove python-mistral

Uninstall python-mistral And Its Dependencies

To uninstall python-mistral and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove python-mistral

Remove python-mistral Configurations and Data

To remove python-mistral configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge python-mistral

Remove python-mistral configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove python-mistral configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge python-mistral
