How To Install python-manila on Debian 9

What is python-manila
python-manila is:
Manila is an OpenStack project to provide Shared Filesystems as a service. It provides coordinated access to shared or distributed file systems. While the primary consumption of file shares would be across OpenStack Compute instances, the service is also intended to be accessible as an independent capability in line with the modular design established by other OpenStack services. Manila is extensible for multiple backends (to support vendor or file system specific nuances / capabilities) and accommodates any of a variety of shared or distributed file system types.
This package contains the Python library for Manila.
There are three methods to install python-manila on Debian 9. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install python-manila Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install python-manila using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install python-manila
Install python-manila Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install python-manila using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install python-manila
Install python-manila Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install python-manila using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install python-manila
How To Uninstall python-manila on Debian 9
To uninstall only the python-manila package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python-manila
Uninstall python-manila And Its Dependencies
To uninstall python-manila and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove python-manila
Remove python-manila Configurations and Data
To remove python-manila configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge python-manila
Remove python-manila configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
