What is python-itango

python-itango is:

ITango works like a normal python console, but it provides a nice set of features from IPython. It also adds set of PyTango specific features:

  • automatic import of Tango objects
  • device and attribute name completion
  • list tango devices, classes, servers
  • customized tango error message
  • database utilities

This is the Python 2 version of the package.

There are three methods to install python-itango on Debian 9. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install python-itango Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install python-itango using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install python-itango

Install python-itango Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
