How To Install python-gear on Debian 9

In this tutorial we learn how to install python-gear on Debian 9.
What is python-gear
python-gear is:
python-gear is a pure-Python asynchronous library to interface with Gearman.
It provides interfaces to build a client or worker, and access to the administrative protocol. The design approach is to keep it simple, with a relatively thin abstration of the Gearman protocol itself. It should be easy to use to build a client or worker that operates either synchronously or asynchronously.
The module also provides a simple Gearman server for use as a convenience in unit tests. The server is not designed for production use under load.
Installing the suggested python-statsd package would add support for reporting to statsd a frontend to Graphite a stats collection and graphing server.
This package contains the Python 2.x module.
There are three methods to install python-gear on Debian 9. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install python-gear Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install python-gear using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install python-gear
Install python-gear Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install python-gear using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install python-gear
Install python-gear Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install python-gear using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install python-gear
How To Uninstall python-gear on Debian 9
To uninstall only the python-gear package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python-gear
Uninstall python-gear And Its Dependencies
To uninstall python-gear and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove python-gear
Remove python-gear Configurations and Data
To remove python-gear configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge python-gear
