How To Install python-brotli on Debian 9

In this tutorial we learn how to install python-brotli on Debian 9. python-brotli is lossless compression algorithm and format (Python 2 version)

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install python-brotli on Debian 9.

What is python-brotli

python-brotli is:

Brotli is a generic-purpose lossless compression algorithm that compresses data using a combination of a modern variant of the LZ77 algorithm, Huffman coding and 2nd order context modeling, with a compression ratio comparable to the best currently available general-purpose compression methods. It is similar in speed with deflate but offers more dense compression.

This package installs a Python 2 module.

There are three methods to install python-brotli on Debian 9. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install python-brotli Using apt-get
