How To Install python-blosc on Ubuntu 18.04

What is python-blosc
python-blosc is:
Blosc (http://blosc.org) is a high performance compressor optimized for binary data. It has been designed to transmit data to the processor cache faster than the traditional, non-compressed, direct memory fetch approach via a memcpy() OS call.
This package provides the official Python bindings in the Python 2 import path.
There are three methods to install python-blosc
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude

Install python-blosc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install python-blosc
using apt-get

After updating apt database, We can install python-blosc

To uninstall only the python-blosc
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python-blosc
Uninstall python-blosc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall python-blosc
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove python-blosc
Remove python-blosc Configurations and Data
To remove python-blosc
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge python-blosc
