What is pycsw-wsgi

pycsw-wsgi is:

pycsw is an OGC CSW server implementation written in Python. pycsw fully implements the OpenGIS Catalogue Service Implementation Specification (Catalogue Service for the Web). Initial development started in 2010 (more formally announced in 2011). The project is certified OGC Compliant, and is an OGC Reference Implementation. Since 2015, pycsw is an official OSGeo Project. pycsw allows for the publishing and discovery of geospatial metadata via numerous APIs (CSW 2/CSW 3, OpenSearch, OAI-PMH, SRU). Existing repositories of geospatial metadata can also be exposed, providing a standards-based metadata and catalogue component of spatial data infrastructures. pycsw is Open Source, released under an MIT license, and runs on all major platforms (Windows, Linux, Mac OS X).

This package contains the Apache mod_wsgi scripts and tests.

There are three methods to install pycsw-wsgi on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install pycsw-wsgi Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install pycsw-wsgi using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install pycsw-wsgi

Install pycsw-wsgi Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install pycsw-wsgi using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install pycsw-wsgi

Install pycsw-wsgi Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install pycsw-wsgi using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install pycsw-wsgi

How To Uninstall pycsw-wsgi on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the pycsw-wsgi package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove pycsw-wsgi

Uninstall pycsw-wsgi And Its Dependencies

To uninstall pycsw-wsgi and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove pycsw-wsgi

Remove pycsw-wsgi Configurations and Data

To remove pycsw-wsgi configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge pycsw-wsgi

Remove pycsw-wsgi configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove pycsw-wsgi configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge pycsw-wsgi
