What is privoxy
Privoxy is a web proxy with advanced filtering capabilities for protecting privacy, filtering web page content, managing cookies, controlling access, and removing ads, banners, pop-ups and other obnoxious Internet junk. Privoxy has a very flexible configuration and can be customized to suit individual needs and tastes. Privoxy has application for both stand-alone systems and multi-user networks. Privoxy is based on the Internet Junkbuster.
We can use yum or dnf to install privoxy on Rocky Linux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install privoxy.
Install privoxy on Rocky Linux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install privoxy using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install privoxy
Install privoxy on Rocky Linux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install privoxy using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install privoxy
