How To Install perl-File-BaseDir on Rocky Linux 8

What is perl-File-BaseDir
This module can be used to find directories and files as specified by the Freedesktop.org Base Directory Specification. This specifications gives a mechanism to locate directories for configuration, application data and cache data. It is suggested that desktop applications for e.g. the Gnome, KDE or Xfce platforms follow this layout. However, the same layout can just as well be used for non-GUI applications.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install perl-File-BaseDir
on Rocky Linux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install perl-File-BaseDir.

Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install perl-File-BaseDir
using dnf

sudo yum makecache --refresh
