How To Install pcb-gtk on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install pcb-gtk on Kali Linux.
What is pcb-gtk
pcb-gtk is:
PCB is an interactive printed circuit board editor for the X11 window system. PCB includes a rats nest feature, design rule checking, and can provide industry standard RS-274-X (Gerber), NC drill, and centroid data (X-Y data) output for use in the board fabrication and assembly process. PCB offers high end features such as an autorouter and trace optimizer which can tremendously reduce layout time.
This package contains the GTK+ user-interface for pcb.
There are three methods to install pcb-gtk on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install pcb-gtk Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install pcb-gtk using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install pcb-gtkInstall pcb-gtk Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install pcb-gtk using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install pcb-gtkInstall pcb-gtk Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install pcb-gtk using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install pcb-gtkHow To Uninstall pcb-gtk on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the pcb-gtk package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove pcb-gtkUninstall pcb-gtk And Its Dependencies
To uninstall pcb-gtk and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove pcb-gtkRemove pcb-gtk Configurations and Data
To remove pcb-gtk configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge pcb-gtkRemove pcb-gtk configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove pcb-gtk configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge pcb-gtkDependencies
