How To Install pango on Rocky Linux 8

on Rocky Linux 8.
What is pango
Pango is a library for laying out and rendering of text, with an emphasis on internationalization. Pango can be used anywhere that text layout is needed, though most of the work on Pango so far has been done in the context of the GTK+ widget toolkit. Pango forms the core of text and font handling for GTK+. Pango is designed to be modular; the core Pango layout engine can be used with different font backends. The integration of Pango with Cairo provides a complete solution with high quality text handling and graphics rendering.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install pango
on Rocky Linux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install pango.
Install pango on Rocky Linux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install pango
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install pango
Install pango on Rocky Linux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install pango
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install pango
How To Uninstall pango on Rocky Linux 8
To uninstall only the pango
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove pango
