How To Install octave-vlfeat on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install octave-vlfeat on Kali Linux.
What is octave-vlfeat
octave-vlfeat is:
VLFeat implements popular computer vision algorithms including MSER, k-means, hierarchical k-means, agglomerative information bottleneck, and quick shift. It is written in C for efficiency and compatibility, with interfaces in GNU octave for ease of use, and detailed documentation throughout. Note that some of the upstream library is under patent protection, and those components (SIFT for instance) are not included in this package

There are three methods to install octave-vlfeat on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install octave-vlfeat Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install octave-vlfeat using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install octave-vlfeatInstall octave-vlfeat Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install octave-vlfeat using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install octave-vlfeat using aptitude by running the following command:

To uninstall only the octave-vlfeat package we can use the following command:

To remove octave-vlfeat configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
