This package contains an implementation of the VideoReader and VideoWriter classes, based on OpenCV’s CvCapture_FFMPEG and CvVideoWriter_FFMPEG, for Octave, a scientific computation software.

This Octave add-on package is part of the Octave-Forge project.

There are three methods to install octave-video on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install octave-video Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install octave-video using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install octave-video

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install octave-video using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install octave-video

Install octave-video Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update
