How To Install octave-ltfat on Ubuntu 18.04

This package provides a Matlab/Octave toolbox for working with time-frequency analysis, wavelets and signal processing. It is intended both as an educational and a computational tool. The toolbox provides a large number of linear transforms including Gabor and wavelet transforms along with routines for constructing windows (filter prototypes) and routines for manipulating coefficients.
This Octave add-on package is part of the Octave-Forge project.
There are three methods to install octave-ltfat on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install octave-ltfat using apt by running the following command:

Install octave-ltfat Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install octave-ltfat using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install octave-ltfat
How To Uninstall octave-ltfat on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the octave-ltfat package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove octave-ltfat
Uninstall octave-ltfat And Its Dependencies
To uninstall octave-ltfat and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove octave-ltfat
Remove octave-ltfat Configurations and Data
To remove octave-ltfat configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge octave-ltfat
Remove octave-ltfat configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove octave-ltfat configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge octave-ltfat
