How To Install npth on Rocky Linux 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install npth
on Rocky Linux 8.
What is npth
nPth is a non-preemptive threads implementation using an API very similar to the one known from GNU Pth. It has been designed as a replacement of GNU Pth for non-ancient operating systems. In contrast to GNU Pth is is based on the system’s standard threads implementation. Thus nPth allows the use of libraries which are not compatible to GNU Pth.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install npth
on Rocky Linux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install npth.
Install npth on Rocky Linux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install npth
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install npth
Install npth on Rocky Linux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install npth
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install npth
How To Uninstall npth on Rocky Linux 8
To uninstall only the npth
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove npth
