How To Install mp3info on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install mp3info on Kali Linux.

What is mp3info

mp3info is:

MP3Info has an interactive mode (using curses) and a command line mode. MP3Info can display ID3 tag information as well as various technical aspects of an MP3 file including playing time, bit-rate, sampling frequency and other attributes in a pre-defined or user-specifiable output format.

If you prefer GUI you should use mp3info-gtk package.

There are three methods to install mp3info on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install mp3info Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install mp3info using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install mp3info

Install mp3info Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install mp3info using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install mp3info

Install mp3info Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install mp3info using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install mp3info

How To Uninstall mp3info on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the mp3info package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove mp3info

Uninstall mp3info And Its Dependencies

To uninstall mp3info and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove mp3info

Remove mp3info Configurations and Data

To remove mp3info configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge mp3info

Remove mp3info configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove mp3info configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
