What is libzmq5

libzmq5 is:

ØMQ is a library which extends the standard socket interfaces with features traditionally provided by specialised messaging middleware products.

ØMQ sockets provide an abstraction of asynchronous message queues, multiple messaging patterns, message filtering (subscriptions), seamless access to multiple transport protocols and more.

This package contains the libzmq shared library.

There are three methods to install libzmq5 on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libzmq5 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libzmq5

To remove libzmq5 configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libzmq5
