How To Install libtevent-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libtevent-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libtevent-dev
libtevent-dev is:
tevent is a simple library that can handle the main event loop for an application. It supports three kinds of events: timed events, file descriptors becoming readable or writable and signals.
Talloc is used for memory management, both internally and for private data provided by users of the library.
This package provides the development files.
There are three methods to install libtevent-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libtevent-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libtevent-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libtevent-devInstall libtevent-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libtevent-dev using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the libtevent-dev package we can use the following command:

To uninstall libtevent-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libtevent-devRemove libtevent-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libtevent-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libtevent-devRemove libtevent-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
