How To Install libsword-1.8.1 on Ubuntu 20.04

The SWORD Project is an open source, cross-platform (Linux, Windows, Solaris, MacOSX etc.) API/library for Bible software with a constantly growing list of front-ends (GUI, textmode, web-based, etc.) and a library of over 200 text modules.
This package contains the core libraries for the project. It also contains utilities for generating data modules.

There are three methods to install libsword-1.8.1
on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get

sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libsword-1.8.1
using apt

Install libsword-1.8.1 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libsword-1.8.1
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libsword-1.8.1
How To Uninstall libsword-1.8.1 on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the libsword-1.8.1
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libsword-1.8.1
Uninstall libsword-1.8.1 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libsword-1.8.1
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libsword-1.8.1
Remove libsword-1.8.1 Configurations and Data
To remove libsword-1.8.1
configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libsword-1.8.1
Remove libsword-1.8.1 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
