How To Install libskk-utils on Ubuntu 20.04

What is libskk-utils
libskk-utils is:
Libskk is a library that provides GObject-based interface of Japanese input methods. Currently it supports SKK (Simple Kana Kanji) with various typing rules including romaji-to-kana, AZIK, ACT, TUT-Code, T-Code, and NICOLA.
This package provides the skk tool that reads key sequences from the standard input and converts them to Japanese text according to SKK Japanese input method (Simple Kana to Kanji conversion program).
There are three methods to install libskk-utils on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libskk-utils Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libskk-utils using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libskk-utils
Install libskk-utils Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libskk-utils using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libskk-utils
Install libskk-utils Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libskk-utils using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libskk-utils
How To Uninstall libskk-utils on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the libskk-utils package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libskk-utils
Uninstall libskk-utils And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libskk-utils and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libskk-utils
Remove libskk-utils Configurations and Data
To remove libskk-utils configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libskk-utils
Remove libskk-utils configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libskk-utils configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libskk-utils
