What is libskk-utils

libskk-utils is:

Libskk is a library that provides GObject-based interface of Japanese input methods. Currently it supports SKK (Simple Kana Kanji) with various typing rules including romaji-to-kana, AZIK, ACT, TUT-Code, T-Code, and NICOLA.

This package provides the skk tool that reads key sequences from the standard input and converts them to Japanese text according to SKK Japanese input method (Simple Kana to Kanji conversion program).

There are three methods to install libskk-utils on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libskk-utils Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
