How To Install libsaml-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libsaml-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libsaml-dev
libsaml-dev is:
OpenSAML is an open source implementation of the OASIS Security Assertion Markup Language Specification. It contains a set of open source C++ classes that support the SAML 1.0, 1.1, and 2.0 specifications.
This package contains the headers and other necessary files to build applications or libraries that use or extend the OpenSAML library.
There are three methods to install libsaml-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libsaml-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libsaml-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libsaml-devInstall libsaml-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libsaml-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libsaml-devInstall libsaml-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libsaml-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libsaml-devHow To Uninstall libsaml-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libsaml-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libsaml-devUninstall libsaml-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libsaml-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libsaml-devRemove libsaml-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libsaml-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libsaml-devRemove libsaml-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libsaml-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libsaml-devDependencies
