How To Install librcd-dev on Debian 12

on Debian 12.
What is librcd-dev
librcd-dev is:
LibRCD is used by RusXMMS project for encoding auto-detection. It is optimized to handle very short titles, like ID3 tags, file names and etc, and provides very high accuracy even for short 3-4 letter words. Current version supports Russian and Ukrainian languages and able to distinguish UTF-8, KOI8-R, CP1251, CP866, ISO8859-1. If compared with Enca, LibRCC provides better detection accuracy on short titles and is able to detect ISO8859-1 (non-cyrillic) encoding what allows one to properly display correct ID3 v.1 titles.
This package provides library development files.
There are three methods to install librcd-dev
on Debian 12. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude

Install librcd-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get

After updating apt database, We can install librcd-dev

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install librcd-dev
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install librcd-dev
How To Uninstall librcd-dev on Debian 12
To uninstall only the librcd-dev
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove librcd-dev
Uninstall librcd-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall librcd-dev
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove librcd-dev
Remove librcd-dev Configurations and Data
To remove librcd-dev
configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
