What is libphp-predis

The library does not require any additional extension loaded in PHP but it can be optionally paired with the phpiredis (https://github.com/nrk/phpiredis) C-based extension to lower the overhead of serializing and parsing the Redis protocol. Predis is also available in an asynchronous fashion through the experimental client provided by the Predis\Async (http://github.com/nrk/predis-async) library.

There are three methods to install libphp-predis on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

After updating apt database, We can install libphp-predis using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libphp-predis

How To Uninstall libphp-predis on Ubuntu 20.04

To uninstall only the libphp-predis package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libphp-predis

Uninstall libphp-predis And Its Dependencies

To uninstall libphp-predis and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libphp-predis

Remove libphp-predis Configurations and Data

To remove libphp-predis configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libphp-predis
