How To Install libpapi5 on Ubuntu 18.04

Performance Application Programming Interface (PAPI) provides the tool designer and application engineer with a consistent interface and methodology for use of the performance counter hardware found in most major microprocessors. In addition Component PAPI provides access to a collection of components that expose performance measurement opportunites across the hardware and software stack.

There are three methods to install libpapi5 on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

To remove libpapi5 configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libpapi5
