How To Install libpam-snapper on Ubuntu 20.04

Snapper is a tool for Linux filesystem snapshot management. Apart from the obvious creation and deletion of snapshots, it can compare snapshots and revert differences between snapshots. In simple terms, this allows root and non-root users to view older versions of files and revert changes.
This package contains the PAM library for snapper, which allows the administrator to take snapshots when an user logs in or out of the system.
There are three methods to install libpam-snapper on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libpam-snapper Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libpam-snapper using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libpam-snapper using apt by running the following command:

Install libpam-snapper Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libpam-snapper using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libpam-snapper
How To Uninstall libpam-snapper on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the libpam-snapper package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libpam-snapper
Uninstall libpam-snapper And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libpam-snapper and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libpam-snapper
Remove libpam-snapper Configurations and Data
To remove libpam-snapper configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libpam-snapper
