How To Install libmed-doc on Ubuntu 20.04

on Ubuntu 20.04.
What is libmed-doc
libmed-doc is:
MED-fichier (Modélisation et Echanges de Données, in English Modelisation and Data Exchange) is a library to store and exchange meshed data or computation results. It uses the HDF5 file format to store the data.
This package provides the documentation for the MED-fichier library (in French).
There are three methods to install libmed-doc
on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libmed-doc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libmed-doc
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libmed-doc

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libmed-doc
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libmed-doc
Install libmed-doc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libmed-doc
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libmed-doc
How To Uninstall libmed-doc on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the libmed-doc
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libmed-doc
Uninstall libmed-doc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libmed-doc
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libmed-doc
Remove libmed-doc Configurations and Data
To remove libmed-doc
configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libmed-doc
Remove libmed-doc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
